Virginia Marie Fitzgerald

Virginia was born on May 9, 1929 in Amherst County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Mattie and Paulie Campbell. She worked for Courtland Manufacturing for 25 years. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church since 1947, where she was faithful to her Sunday school class and church. She fought the good fight, loving her Lord, family, church, and spending time in her garden. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her two brothers: Junior Campbell and William Campbell, and her sister, Ellie Campbell.

Along with her husband James, Virginia is survived by her son, Larry Wayne Fitzgerald, and his wife Kathy; her daughter, Becky Spradlin, and her husband Larry; her grandchildren: Regina Perrow, and her husband Brian, Allison Farley, and her husband Jeremy, Kevin Fitzgerald, Margie Cain, and her husband Justin, and Josh Spradlin, and Laura; her great-grandchildren: David, Maddy, Olivia, and Caitlyn; her two brothers: Vernon Campbell, and Thomas Campbell; her brother-in-law, Henry Campbell; her three sisters: Frances Williams, and her husband Jimmy, Elizabeth Davis, and Mary Trent, and her husband Ed; her favorite cousin, Ruthie Fitzgerald, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She loved her little dog, Isabell.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Fitzgerald and Rev. Earl Clarkson officiating. Burial will follow at Amherst Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Central Baptist Church.
