Born in Berlin, New Hampshire, December 30, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Peter Nadeau and Lucia Thibodeau Nadeau. Twice married she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence L. Smith, Jr. and her second husband Robert A. Wooldridge. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Dora Dube and Leo Paul Nadeau.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet S. Staton of WV, Helen S. Watkins (Jon) of NC and Sara S. Coleman (Roy) of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Jody B. Collins (Dao), Jason Coleman (Ashley) and Roy Coleman, III; her great grandchildren, Jacob Collins, Reagan, Gracelynn, Charlene and Konner Coleman; her sister, Jeannette Soucy of NH; two step-children, Kenneth Wooldridge and Loretta Hall; and her cat, Kaelyn.
She retired from General Electric Corp. after 30 years of service. “Big Vi” was often teased at family gatherings about how she survived the sinking of the Titanic, to which she would smile and laugh. She was 93 years old and proud of it.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. David Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
