Thelma Plaugher Coleman

Born on July 15, 1934 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Nellie Plaugher.

Thelma had a wonderful sense of humor and would freely speak her mind. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Rhuhamey Durham.

Thelma is survived by her six children, Kenneth Coleman and wife Brenda, James Coleman, Jr. and wife Patricia, John Coleman and wife Sheila, Shirley Peters, Jane Lankford and husband Marvin, and Sandria Lindsay and husband Chad; eleven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Roseland, VA with Pastor Melvin Campbell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions in Thelma’s name be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 1211 Old Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
