Born May 16, 1932, Sylvia was an energetic woman who cherished cooking, sewing, and gardening. Her life was characterized by her passion for music, particularly gospel songs. Sylvia devoted most of her life to her church choir and was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s Barbershop Quartet. In high school she played the cello, and for over 25 years she selflessly volunteered for Centra,
In addition to her parents Sylvia was preceded in death by one sister.
Those left to cherish Sylvia’s memory include her brothers Macon Clements and his wife Betty, and Melvin Clements of Ellicott City, Maryland; and several nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 10:00 am at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Ian McManamey officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
