Susan Darlene Dalton, 61, of Lynchburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, April 03, 2013, after a sort hard battle with pancreatic cancer. Born October 25, 1951, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of Hilda Tuck Dalton of Lynchburg and the late Floyd Wilson Dalton.
Better known as Darlene, she attended Thomas Road Baptist Church. Darlene cared for her invalid mother for 1 ½ years and did an amazing job caring for her. Her family is so grateful for her caring for their mother.
Darlene loved music and had her own band in the 1980’s known as Darlene Dalton and NiteMagic. She sung all over the world. She was a song writer and also recorded records. She also sung in a gospel group and country bands around the Lynchburg area with her sister. Darlene was an artist. She loved gardening flowers and light houses. She loved her Lord and Savior the most. Her strength and courage through this battle, shined her love for her Lord being by her side. She never lost faith that her God could heal her if it was His will.
Darlene worked at Women’s Health Services in collections and took so much pride in her work.
Darlene is survived by her sister, Rita D. Eagle and her husband Thomas of Lynchburg and her brother, Larry W. Dalton and his wife Marla of Selma, NC; nieces and nephews, Kevin Eagle of Lynchburg, Adam Dalton, Sierra Dalton and Elijah Dalton of Selma, NC, Jason Dalton and his wife Missy and their son Zach Dalton of Rock Hill, SC and Lara Dalton of Nevada; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She also left behind her close friend, Loni Witt, whom was so much help with her care and is the meaning of a “true friend” to the end. Darlene’s family is truly grateful for her.

A Celebration of Darlene’s Life will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. David Heerspink officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Concord.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence of Rita Eagle.
