Those left to cherish Steve’s memory include his loving wife Rosa W. Weller, his mother Rosalie Weller, his sons William Lee Weller, Sean M. Weller (McKenzie); his sister Jennifer “Jenny” Weller Hughes (Jamie); his granddaughter Khloe Weller; his nephew Tyler Hughes, niece Ann Woodson Lawrence, nephew James “Jay” Woodson (Erin),nephew Paul Woodson (Carly) ; his brother – in – Law James "Jimmy" Woodson, sister- in – law Kathryn Garrett, five great-nephews, two great-nieces, three aunts, one uncle, and eleven cousins.
Born January 31,1965, Steve was a devoted individual whose life was characterized by dedication and compassion. He embarked on his academic journey at CVCC, where he spent time nurturing his intellect. His professional endeavors led him to Simplimatic Engineering, where he diligently served for 15 years, followed by a decade long tenure at Tru-Cut Fabrication, showcasing his unwavering commitment to his work. Steve’s spiritual foundation was formed in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church during his childhood, later contributing to the establishment of the mosaic church in Lynchburg. He then furthered his devotion to his community with decades of his life volunteering at the challenge sports exchange, exemplifying his steadfast devotion as the president of the “Fishing Fools” club for two years and founding the “Cast Away” fishing club. His affinity for camping and cherished retreats to Nags Head reflected his appreciation for life’s simple joys. Steve’s more remarkable trait was his innate ability to connect with others effortlessly; to him, strangers were merely friends waiting to be made. Alongside his father, Steve knew and befriended countless individuals, truly embodying the spirit of camaraderie and warmth.
In Steve’s passing, we mourn the loss of a remarkable soul whose legacy of kindness, dedication, and friendship will continue to inspire us all. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the community he so deeply touched. May his memory be a source of comfort and solace during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held for Steve on Saturday March 30, 2024 from 12:00 pm – 3:00pm at the Mosaic Church in Lynchburg 2323 Memorial Ave, Suite 19 Lynchburg, VA 24501. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate a donation to either Mosaic Church or The Challenge Sports Exchange."
