Smiley Thomas Tomlinson Jr.

Born on June 10, 1931 in Lexington, he was the son of the late Smiley Thomas Tomlinson, Sr. and the late Gladys Henderson Tomlinson. Smiley retired as an accountant from Capps Shoe Company; he was formerly the manager of the manufacturing accounting department at Craddock Terry Shoe Company where he worked for over 44 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the National Association of Accounting. Smiley was also a professional photographer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Eric C. Tomlinson and wife Sarah and Edward C. Tomlinson and wife Beth; five grandchildren, Savannah Tomlinson, Haley Tomlinson, Ethan Tomlinson, Aaron Tomlinson, and Nathan Tomlinson; and sister Aline T. DeWitt.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at his son Eric Tomlinson’s residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with Pastor Josef Shalev officiating. Interment will be private.
