Ruth Hudson Dudley Wright Ruth Hudson Dudley Wright, 95, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Twice married, she was the wife of the late Watson Allen Dudley and the late Joseph Edward Wright. Born September 29, 1915 in Elon, she was the daughter of the late William Walker Hudson and Myrtle Watts Hudson and was preceded in death by one son, Allen Wayne Dudley and two brothers, Arthur Hudson and Joseph Harris Hudson. She was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Wright is survived by three daughters, Patricia Foust and husband, Horace, Janet Anders and husband, Dean, both of Lynchburg and Gloria Kocher of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Terri Gowell and husband, Frank, Tammy Sherlin, Angela Rimington and husband, Jason, and David Foust and fiancee, Tessa Midcap; six great-grandchildren, Frank Allen Gowell, Bryan Gowell, Kelsey Sherlin, Sydney Seager, Noah Rimington, and Tanner Rimington; one great-great-grandchild, Brya Gowell; devoted friends, Kenneth and Marie Snider and several nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2011 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Harbin officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the funeral home and other times at Mrs. Wright’s residence.
