Ruth Anna Woodson

Ruth was born May 23, 1917 in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late William Andrew and Annie Willoughby Ballowe Harris and was also preceded in death by a son, Cecil Woodson and a step-son, James Roy Woodson, Jr. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Rustburg.

Ruth is survived by three daughters, Signora Dalton of Rustburg, Cassie Stewart and husband, Norman of Lynchburg, and Joyce Tyree of Madison Heights; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and her granddaughter and caregiver, Kathy Woodson of Lynchburg.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Dittman and Chaplain Steve Flowers officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the funeral home.
