Roxanne Lynne Guthrie, 58, of Lynchburg, passed away on December 18, 2023. Born on February 21, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Warren P. Guthrie, Jr. and Gaynell Goad Guthrie.
Roxanne was a 1983 graduate of Brookville High School. She dedicated her professional life to serving others, most recently as a patient sitter with Centra Health, finding immense joy in caring for her patients. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, defining her as a loving mother to her children and a doting grandmother to her precious grandchildren.
Roxanne's warmth and kindness were truly remarkable, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her compassionate nature and genuine care resonated deeply, making her beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. It's a rare and beautiful quality to universally touch the lives of those around you with love and sincerity, and Roxanne's ability to do so speaks volumes about her exceptional character. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.
She is survived by her devoted partner of 38 years, John Osborne; her children, Jessica Osborne and Jeremy Osborne; her grandchildren, Ryder, Raelynne, Jaidyn Osborne, and Declan Clarke; siblings, Virginia Hudson, Henry Lee (Debbie), Diane Phelps, Donald Ray Guthrie, and Phyllis Woodall. She was a special aunt to Christy Howard, Kellie Hudson, Richard Lee, Micki Lee, Steve Guthrie, Jr. and Miranda Guthrie; special cousins, Gloria Dawson, Janet Harding and Monroe Coffer and lifelong friends, Karen Pannell, Rhonda Campbell, Lisa Moon and Denise Stevens.
A celebration of Roxanne's life will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, followed by a gathering for friends and family until 8:00 p.m.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Roxanne's friends and colleagues at Centra for their unwavering support throughout the years. They also express deep appreciation to the caring staff at LGH for their compassion in caring for Roxanne.
In honoring Roxanne's memory, her kindness and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
