Ronnie was the husband of Emily Craig Cash Covington and is also survived by a sister-in-law, Sheila Craig of Rustburg; his son, Ronnie Covington (Lisa) of Drakes Branch; his step-children, Melissa Henley (Sherman) of Lynchburg; Larry Ennis, Jr. (Vicki) of Myrtle Beach, and John Ennis (Kristen) of Madison Heights; his brothers, Kenny and Tommy Covington, both of Drakes Branch; his sister, Jeannette Hughes of South Hill; his niece, Tammy White and husband Steve, also of South Hill; his step-grandchildren, Kristi Evans (Hunter) of Rustburg, Cody Ennis (McKenzie) of Appomattox, Casey and Noah of Madison Heights, Kayla Driskill (Taylor) of Rustburg and Dustin Williams of Crew; his step-grandchildren, Darla Evans (Kashton) of Rustburg and Raylanne Ennis of Appomattox, and a great nephew, Joshua Robertson.
Ronnie enjoyed driving his Peterbilt, he drove for 48 years. He started with Tuck Hudson of Drakes Branch, at a very young age. Ronnie retired from JGF Trucking. He enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals with his sidekick, Jeff Harvey of Rustburg. He enjoyed his bluegrass and meeting new friends. He had close friends, he hung out with at bluegrass festivals, Jeff Harvey, Eddie Wieringo, and Lela, Skip and Lorraine Tuck, and Tuck and Mary Hudson.
Ronnie had a heart of gold, he never met a stranger. He loved his dog, Punkie, he called Boo. He will be dearly missed by many.
Special thanks to Gentle Shepherd (Tammy, Penny, Bree), for all their time, concerns, kindness, and caring of Ronnie. Special thanks also to his step-daughter, Melissa for her excellent care for him during his illness.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Walkup officiating.
A graveside service will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 at Mt. Calvary U.M. Church Cemetery in Drakes Branch.
