Born April 25, 1913 in Bedford County, he was the son of the late Loxley Lee Wooldridge, Sr. and the late Frances Burnette Wooldridge and was also preceded in death by his oldest son, Larry of New Mexico. Mr. Wooldridge was a retired Firefighter at the Fort Hill Station of the Lynchburg Fire Department with thirty-two years of service. He was a member of Euclid Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Donald Wooldridge of Texas and Kenneth Wooldridge of Georgia; one daughter, Loretta W. Hall, also of Georgia; one sister, Frances Gilliam of Hurt; three step-daughters, Janet Collins of West Virginia, Helen Watkins of North Carolina, and Sara Coleman of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 7:00-8:30 p.m.at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
