Born in Bedford, August 28, 1962, he was the son of the late Carol Hurt Fitzgerald. He was the owner/operator of Preferred Pest Control and a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
Ricky was a graduate of Heritage High School where he played football and was a member of the wrestling team. He was also a graduate of Ferrum College where he continued to play football.
Ricky enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching Little League football and baseball and was an all-around sports enthusiast.
Ricky’s life centered around his wife, Lynita and their son, Landon and his passion for baseball. He also thoroughly enjoyed time spent with his buddies at The Tackle Box and W&W Novelty.
Ricky leaves to cherish his memory, wife and friend of 26 years, Lynita Foster Tuck, and son David Landon Tuck both of Forest. Also a special aunt and second mother Lillian Dalton, grandmother Etta Tuck, step-sister Sherry Moyer and husband Hoss and their children, brothers-in-law Kevin Foster, wife Pam and children Cassie and Ashley and her husband Ben, Rodney Foster, wife Heidi and children Bailey, Dalton, and Emme Sue, mother-in-law Judy Wade and husband Roger, father-in-law Jimmy Foster and wife Bev, special caregiver Bruce Hendrix and a host of devoted lifetime friends that includes “the boys of Perrymont” and all his special fishing buddies.
A celebration of Ricky’s life will be held at Pate Chapel of Thomas Road Baptist Church at 5:30 PM Thursday January 10, 2013 with Dr. Vernon Brewer officiating.
The family will host a reception immediately following the service at the American Legion on Greenview Drive.
