Raymond Floyd Pavone, Jr., 80, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020, at his residence. He was the husband of Barbara Cook Pavone. Born June 27, 1939, in Alexandria, VA, he was the son of the late Raymond Floyd Pavone, Sr. and the late Mae Trammell Pavone.
Raymond was a retired meat cutter for Food Lion and a member of Lynchburg First Church of the Nazarene. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by two siblings, Pauline Pavone and Bobby Pavone.
In addition to his wife, Raymond is survived by his three children, Raymond S. Pavone and his wife Susanne of Knoxville, TN, Donald W. Pavone of Forest and Cynthia L. Dark and her husband Daniel of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, Amanda R. Neville and her husband Frank, Cole T. Preston and his wife Andrea, Matthew R. Pavone and Mary Elizabeth Pavone; four great grandchildren, Asher Neville, Livia Preston, Cason Neville and Nora Preston; and other loving family members and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 8, 2020, at Lynchburg First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Stephen Willis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Epilepsy Foundation.
