Phyllis Austin

Born in Lynchburg, July 21, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lewis William Wade and Rebecca Gordon Wade. She was a homemaker and member of the Mountain View Church of God. Phyllis loved her family and loved life and Christmas was her favorite time of the year.

One brother, William Lewis Wade preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Austin Brooks Martin and her husband Allen of Forest; one granddaughter, Blair Alyse Brooks and four sisters-in-law, Pat Wade of Concord, Verla Lloyd, Carolyn Franklin and Shirley Wooldridge all of Lynchburg and a host of extended family and friends.

A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Lonni Wickard officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
