Peggy Holloran Crawford, 76, died peacefully, following a short illness, on Sunday, November 04, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the beloved wife of her high school sweetheart, John Wendell “Crow” Crawford for 43 wonderful years. They married days after her graduation from E.C. Glass High School in 1955
Born in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late John Walker Holloran, III and the late Nannie Fortune Holloran. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, John W. “Buddy” Holloran, IV and one sister, Nancy H. Barrett.
Peggy was a member of Memorial Christian Church and she was a licensed real estate professional for more than 20 years. She was an accomplished watercolor painter, having created many beautiful works of art. In addition to her painting, her greatest joys were the beach and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, W. Timothy Crawford and his wife, Vicki, of Amherst and M. Kelly Crawford and his wife, Janice, of Lynchburg; one daughter, Pamela C. Whetton and her husband, Mike, of Lynchburg and six grandchildren, Meghan C. Munsey and her husband, Matt, Joey Crawford, Josh Whetton, Sean Whetton, Sam Crawford and Matthew Crawford..
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Virgil Knipp and the Rev. Sue Knipp, officiating. After the service the family would appreciate your coming by the home, 61 Maybrook Dr.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
