Patricia Ann Sheehan, GG to her many great-grandchildren, is gone from the world at age 81. Her great and generous spirit took flight to heaven at 9:15 am, on 8 January 2013. She lives now with her one true passion, her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is remembered by the tender embraces she freely gave to all with no regard to state or station. Throughout her entire life, she remained pure and true in thought and deed, placing her body and soul at the point of need time and again, giving many wanderers a place to stay, drying many tears, visiting the sick, listening attentively and offering endless sympathy to those emotionally and physically afflicted persons she encountered. She gave great comfort both spiritually, through her prodigious magnanimity, and physically, through her renowned culinary talent which drew from far and wide, family, friends and strangers to her table.
She was a virtuoso seamstress and was often seen cross-stitching, sewing, knitting, and quilting, creating plaques, decorations, manger scenes, wall hangings, dolls, plush animals, clothes, costumes, wedding attire, placemats, draft stoppers and nearly any other yarn-cloth-string made object imaginable for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, at one point devoting an entire room of her house to the vocation.
She especially loved ministering to little children and devoted years of her life to teaching toddlers about Jesus in Sunday school.
On Christmas day, a small family gathering stood around her convalescent bed to sing carols, and despite the advanced ravages of Alzheimer’s disease, she recalled to mind those words she most loved to give and to receive throughout her life, every syllable and every note.
She was one of the truly great and perfect souls who have ever graced the sphere, and will be sorely missed by her immense surviving family including her children; Faith Helwig and her daughter, Christa; Mark and Judy Hall and their children Melissa Holmquist, Kimmie Lewis, and Stephen Hall and spouses; her step-children; Anne Shelden; Michal and David Mast and her children, Ti Sutherland and Tracey Lepro and spouses; Helen and Jim Van Eaton and their children, Jim Van Eaton, Jonathan Van Eaton, Joel Van Eaton, and Rachel Keller and spouses; Bill and Delanita Sheehan and their children, Billy Sheehan, Paul Sheehan, Kara Goddard, and Erin Sheeran, and spouses; Margaret and Dave Leslie and their children, Leesa Teethoff, David Leslie, Ted Leslie, and Karianne Rondeau and spouses; Patricia and Calvin Wintle and her children, David Lindsey, Dawn Johns, and Debbie Hahn and spouses; two sisters, Meta Crossman and husband Max; and Dottie Carr and husband Lee; her grandchildren Ruth’s daughter, Shirley Rowland, and Kathy’s children, Margaret-Anne Tesdall, Pamela Beatty, and Jenny Riedel and spouses; not to mention 55 great-grandchildren.
Patricia is now in heaven with those who have gone before her including her husbands, Earl Hall and William F. Sheehan her parents Lois and Stanley Skivington; two brothers, Bob Skivington and Kenneth Skivington and one sister, Mildred Skivington; one grandson, Christopher Helwig and step-children; Kathy Pals, Esther and Jack Wellborn, Ruth Drown, and Claire Shelden (Ann’s husband)
