Born in Lynchburg, November 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Manson Clifton “Red” Proffitt and Dorothy Campbell “Dot” Proffitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence D. Frazier.
Pat was retired from Griffin Pipe and Foundry after 26 years of service, she later retired from New London Cannery. Pat was an avid gardener and loved to work in her garden with her grandson Joe and his wife Meagan. She also enjoyed canning the harvest from her garden to share with friends and family. She was a volunteer and supporter of the Challenged Sports Exchange, her involvement demonstrates her commitment to supporting others and making a difference in the lives of those facing challenges. Pat's social nature and enjoyment of various groups, including Moose Lodge 1727, Thirsty Thursday, the Harley Davidson group, and the wine festival, highlight her vibrant and outgoing personality. Being a member of Rock Pike Baptist Church suggests a spiritual aspect to her life, and her connections with family and friends were evidently cherished.
She is survived by three children, Judy S. Argenbright (Jesse), Vickie L. Padgett (Bill) and William D. “Joe” Frazier (Dana); two sisters, Betty Presley (Harold) and Linda Proffitt (Nelson); seven grandchildren, Julie Argenbright, Clifton Padgett, Jesse Argenbright, Jr., Joseph Padgett, John Frazier, Matthew Frazier and Randall Argenbright; She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, Jasmine Vance, Blake Padgett, Britney Padgett, Tyler Padgett, William “Bill” Crank, Kimmie Padgett, Karson Padgett, Jesse Argenbright, III, Jordan Argenbright, Jaxson Argenbright and Memphis Argenbright whom she was affectionately known as “Gigi” or “Patches” and two great-great grandchildren, Caroline and Brinley.
She is also survived by her adopted grandchildren, Aaron Adkins, Blake Adkins and Chasity Sexton, and she had a special place in her heart for her former boss and friend, Henry Palmer and Jeanie Shelton of Bennies Seafood.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2024 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Sam Stump officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Whitten Timberlake Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024.
