Nancy Davis Godsey, 79, of Rustburg, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and the love of her life, her husband, Bob (Robert O. Godsey Jr.).
Born in Lynchburg, on July 27, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Jack Davis and Anne Davis.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Godsey; and two siblings, JC. Davis and Shirley Morris.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Brenda Martin (Tim) of Appomattox, J.T. Carter (Angie) of Rustburg, Kristi Woods (Terry) of Appomattox, Karen Roach (Byron), Kendell Godsey (Sherri) both of Myrtle Beach, SC, Keith Godsey (Sharon) of Concord, and Kelly Cleland (Skip) of Middletown, Pa.; two siblings, Sarah Taylor (Earl) of Lynchburg, and Carolyn Smith (Sonny) of Appomattox; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and her special nieces and nephews.
Nancy loved spending time with her family, especially beach vacation trips, holiday family get togethers and family cookouts. She loved her fur babies, Smokey and Kim-Lee who were always by her side. She loved her second family, her coworkers at TSG. Their love, encouragement and support meant so much to her. She looked forward to Sunday morning services with Pastor Jonathan Falwell and the Thomas Road Baptist Choir. She loved to have fun, to dance and play the piano. She made everyone feel welcomed and special.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Centra Hospice especially her nurse Kristen for her loving care; also Dr. Plankeel and his staff, her coworkers and several special friends.
