Melissa Arrington Meagher, 44, of Lynchburg, formerly of Buchanan, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, January 3, 2016.
Born November 12, 1971 in Covington, she was the daughter of James Michael Arrington of Covington and Wanda Wilmer Arrington of Richmond. She was a former teacher with the Louisa County School System and was a U.S. Army veteran. Melissa loved to hunt and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She attended Tree of Life Ministries in Lynchburg.
Melissa is survived by her daughter, Morgan Stillman, husband Trey and their daughter, Abigail Stillman of Evington; her son, Michael “Bubba” Meagher III, and fiancée, Jordan Heider of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Jamie Crowe and husband Stephen of Richmond and Tracey Loving and husband Craig of Tappahannock; her grandparents, Eloise and James Arrington of Covington and four nieces, Kaitlyn Hundley, Rachel Hundley, Carly Crowe, and Elizabeth Loving. Melissa is also survived by her former husband and father of her children, James Michael Meagher, Jr. of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Donna Arrington.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg with Joy Sickinger officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
A private graveside service will be held in Covington.
