Maxine Oppleman Feinman

Maxine Oppleman Feinman, 90, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at her residence at Westminster Canterbury. She was the wife of the late Edward Ronald Feinman.
Born in Lynchburg, October 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Isadore P. Oppleman and Zelda Totz Oppleman. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Ryan Feinman.
She is survived by four children, Lynn Beth Feinman, Ron Feinman and his wife Kathe, Amy Zelda Feinman, and Paul Joseph Feinman and his wife Paula; four grandchildren, Evan Matthew Feinman and his wife Annalisa, Justin Scott Feinman and his wife Caroline, Emma Ryan Feinman and Matthew Ryan Feinman; and one great granddaughter, Frances Bellamy Feinman.
Maxine was never boring. She was always outspoken. A gracious hostess who loved entertaining, she was happiest with a full table and a home filled with family and friends. She never met a stranger. Her husband, Edward and she shared an expansive gregariousness and love of life.
As a member of the greatest generation of mothers, with four active children, she drove carpools, did her part to support Floyd Ward and Cotillion, city league football and baseball, piano and ballet; she drove carpools, she prepared four school lunches five days a week and family dinners each night, and she drove carpools, all while actively volunteering in the community. (Estimated carpool mileage: 543,864 miles)
She was President of Meals on Wheels, a board member of the Lynchburg Mental Health Association and the Florence Crittenden Home, and she was an early supporter of the Interfaith Outreach Association and its predecessor, the Kum Bah Yah Association.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Agudath Sholom Synagogue with Rabbi John Nimon officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Joseph Agudath Sholom Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Meals on Wheels 605 Clay St, Lynchburg, VA 24504.
