
Mary Sue was born September 2, 1916, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Mary and Preston were in the insurance business in Lynchburg for many years, Hundley Wilkens and Bowles Ins. Co., Inc. She was a daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Bruce Hurt Anderson, and the late Mabel Lane. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Bruce Hurt Anderson Jr.
Mary Sue was a 1936 graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She also attended Newcomb College in Louisiana. She was a long time member and past Regent of the DAR. She was also a long time member of The Women’s Club of Lynchburg, and Church Women United.
One of her long time loves was First Christian Church in Lynchburg. She was a member beginning in the 1930’s and taught Sunday school there for over 50 years.
She is survived by her two sons, Preston B. Hundley Jr., and wife Isabel Wallace Cesafsky Hundley, and Bruce A. Hundley and wife Sheila Hogan Hundley; a brother, Howard Anderson; and one sister, Charlotte Anderson Stratford. Survivors also include 9 grandchildren, Elizabeth Hundley Younger and husband, Charles Anthony Younger, Bruce A. Hundley Jr. and wife Angela Jones Hundley, Rebecca Sue Hundley Pit-Og and husband Lt. Colonel Chad Pit-Og, Mary Hundley Long, Garnett Wade Hundley and wife Melinda Phillippe Hundley, Kate Cesafsky Coleman and spouse David Thornhill Coleman, Jon Hyatt Cesafsky, and Jay Wallace Cesafsky; 13 great-grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Younger, Charles Christopher Younger, Chelsea Day Long, Alexander Hundley, Antonio Hundley, Garrett Bruce Hundley, Krista Lynn Hundley, Roman Pit-Og, Maximus Preston Pit-Og, Jesse Saunders, David Thornhill Coleman, Myles Katherine Coleman, Natalie Ann Coleman, Quinn Cameron Cesafsky, Jon Wesley Cesafsky, and Eleanor Olivia Cesafsky; and one great-great-grandson, Thomas Cesafsky.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at First Christian Church; by the Rev. Nathan Brooks. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.
