Born November 6, 1926 in Abingdon, VA she was a daughter of the late Mack D. Bailey and Virgie Mae Neal Bailey. She retired from the Lynchburg department of Social Services and was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Humphreys is also preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Bailey and his wife, Edna; brother-in-laws, Ernest and wife, Margaret Humphreys, Paul, Leonard, George, and Glenn and wife, Mildred Humpherys, Wayne Parsons, Robert Cullip; sister-in-law, Jean Yuhasz and her husband, Roger.
Mary is survived by two sons, Ranny Dell Humphreys, Michael Wayne Humphreys; sisters, Jean Mortz and husband, George, Frances Thomas, Marie Weaver and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Christopher Humphreys, Rannie Dale Humphreys, Joel Humphreys and his wife, Joanna, Casey Lloyd and husband, Robert; great-grandchildren, Madison Lloyd, Evangeline Lloyd, Josiah Humphreys, Elizah Humphreys; sister-in-laws, Berrtha Parsons, Phyllis Price and husband, S.W. and Lavinia Cullip, Lois Humphreys, Mary Ann Humphreys, and Phyllis Humphreys.
A funeral service will be held tonight, May 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel conducted by the Rev. Philip Waltz and Pastor Bill Evans. Interment will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Va.
The family will receive friends at Whitten Funeral Home tonight following the service.
