Mary Hazel Coates

Born in Nelson County, December 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Albert Colburn Coates and Josephine Creasman Coates. Mary graduated from Bob Jones University and Virginia Baptist School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from the Central Virginia Training Center after 26 years of service. She was a longtime member of Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Mary was a wonderful and loving person and very giving to others.

Survivors include her daughter, Jodie Lynnette Reihl; two grandsons, Christopher Little and Kyle Dooley; her sister-in-law, Frances Coates and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Brett Eubank officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August, 31, 2015 at the funeral home.
