Marvin Scott Evans, 86, of Evington passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Autumn Care in Altavista. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marion Smith Evans.

Born in Moneta, April 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Aubrey Bascomb Evans and Alice Maddox Evans. He was retired from Limitorque and proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps for eight years. He was a member of Langhorne Chapel.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Marshal Evans (Debbie) and Stacy Evans (Kelly); one daughter, Robin Choo (Charles); one sister, Betty Green; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

One granddaughter and 11 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2022 at Virginia Memorial Park with Pastor Dwight Weaver officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
