Martha Elizabeth Callaway Mahaney

Born in Washington, GA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Mercer Callaway and the late Mildred Simpson Callaway.

Martha was a member of Peakland United Methodist Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Janis C.M. Cole and her husband, Perry of Birmingham, AL and James E. Mahaney and his wife, Lisa of Pembroke, VA and five wonderful grandchildren, Brandon Cole, Patrick Mahaney, Avery Mahaney, William Mahaney and Scott Mahaney.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Peakland United Methodist Church by the Reverend Dr. Edwin Clever. Entombment will be in the Peakland United Methodist Church Columbarium at a later date.

The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of Peakland United Methodist Church after the service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Peakland United Methodist Church Organ Fund, 4434 Boonsboro Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24503.
