Born in Lynchburg, December 26, 1941, he was the son of the late Owen Terrell Coleman and Bessie Mae Kirby Coleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Owen Wayne “Butch” Coleman and Ronald E. “Ronnie” Coleman, Sr.; one nephew, Scott Hackworth and one niece, Teresa Coleman Barber.
Bud was retired from the Lynchburg Police Department after 37 years of service. His hobbies included collecting and restoring cars and re-upholstering furniture. He enjoyed attending Cruise Ins and car shows with friends. He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Police, John Lynch Lodge #34.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy C. Rowland and her husband Bobby of Forest and Tina G. Coleman of Cabot, AR; one sister, Joyce C. Stinnett and her husband Mark of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Lawrence “Brett” Mann and Emily Daniel; one niece, Martha Coleman and three nephews, Ron Coleman, Jr., Steve Hackworth and Bobby Hackworth.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Sam Stump officiating. Full honors will be provided by the Lynchburg Police Department Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
