Marie Vece Bender, 90, of Forest, VA formally of Hamden, CT died Saturday, January 14, 2012. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior on Nov. 18, 2011 and was baptized on Nov. 20, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents Nicola and Rose Castricone, Mom to the late Thomas C. Vece, sister to the late Dorothy Holdright, Patty Winek and Dr. Nicolas Castricone, Sr.
She is survived by her sons Raymond G. Vece, of Forest, VA, Marc A. (Sehbal) Vece of Corpus Christi, TX, daughter-in-law Cindy Vece of Grand Rapids, MI, her siblings Eleanor Maturo of Wallingford, CT, Anna (Toot) Maturo of Wappingers, Falls, NY. Her grandchildren Kevin, Kim, James Vece, Cheryl Kaliniak, Tom Vece II, Nick Vece, Nicole Coon and 10 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life is to be held Wed. Jan. 18, 2012 at 7 pm at Blue Ridge Community Church, 2361 New London Road, Forest, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to Lynchburg Relay For Life or Alzheimer's Association .
