Margaret West Bell was called home to be with her Lord and Heavenly family on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. “Margo” as she was known, was born October 20, 1951 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Mary Elisabeth and Jack West.
She was one of the first students enrolled in the RMWC nursery program in 1955. She was also a 1969 graduate of Brookville High School. As a licenesed beautician, she worked at Mae’s Beauty Salon for twelve years. She then worked with her husband, Gary, as office manager for Holland’s General Contractors for the past twenty-nine years.
In addition to her husband, Margo is survived by two daughters, Jeanie Reno and husband, Dale and Laurie Bell and companion, Sherman; five grandchildren, Jacklyn Tanner, Brandon Bell, Andrew Bell, Angela Rosario, and Sarah Rosario; a brother, Carlisle West; a sister, Kim Maddox and husband, Roger; two nephews, Ben and John Maddox; two adored and loved pets, Buddy and Maddie; a faithful Physician, Friend, and supporter, Dr. Kim Combs and a special friend, Claudette Hill.
Margo was a member of Evinton United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She loved music, playing the piano, horseback riding, reading, and camping. Collecting antique porcelain dolls, furniture, and china were some of her hobbies too. She was also an avid supporter of NASCAR, her favorite driver was #3, Dale Earnhardt.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Evington United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at the residence.
