Born on April 26, 1988 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of Brad Barber (Diane Brandt) and the late Beverley Villarial. She was also preceded in death by her friend (and father of her son Jordan) Blake Woody, maternal grandmother Rose Villarial and paternal grandfather Tom Barber “Papa”.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her son, Jordan T. Woody; sisters Julia Barber, Jamie Zeno, Katie Bramlett, Kandie Jade, Hailey Dalton and brothers, Tim Oliver, Bryce Barber, and Chad Dalton; paternal grandmother, Lynn Barber “Nana” and maternal grandfather, Dan Villarial. She is also survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and friends.
Ever since Mallory was little, she was always strong and paid attention to detail. Her socks always had to be perfectly straight and her shoes tied just right or she would sit down and not leave the house until they were just right. She was the same way as she got older with her love of family and friends. Mallory lost her Mom at the age of ten. She went through some difficult times and we’re so proud of how she battled her way out of addiction. She was always striving to improve herself and be a wonderful Mother to her son, Jordan. Everything Mallory did was about her love for Jordan and her family.
She worked at Abbott in Altavista before getting her CNA certification and getting a job at Virginia Baptist Hospital earlier this year. She helped coach Jordan in basketball, never missing events involving her son or her family. She was usually first to show up at her Nana’s and last to leave when having family events. She never met a stranger and would go out of her way to help others. She loved playing basketball, being outside in nature, the beach and the mountains. She loved working out at the YMCA and walking, jogging or hiking. During her last day on earth, she took her sister Julie to go walking around Timbrook Park. Mallory loved going to Blue Ridge Community Church and taking her son and whomever else might want to go too.
Mallory loved her family and we all dearly loved her. Her sense of humor was unique and will not ever be replaced. We love you Mallory!
