Luther Paul Irby, Jr., 68, of Gladys, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023.

He was born in Lynchburg on May 10, 1954, son of the late Luther P. Irby, Sr. and the late Charlotte E. Irby.

Paul was retired after a long career at Walmart. He was caretaker to his partner, Cheree Stevens and to his beloved cat Sparkles in his retirement. He also loved NASCAR and he was an avid sports fan in his free time.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tracy Byerly and husband Rob; his son, Michael Irby; two sisters, Deborah Bobbitt and husband O.H. and Tammy Anderson and husband Dennis; a niece, Tara Stump and husband Jody; a nephew, P.A. Bobbitt and wife Jessica; great niece, Ashby; a special aunt, Ramona Lawrence; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild as well as several aunts and uncles.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA 24588.
