Born November 22, 1942 in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Jack Randall Duffie and Mae Cozart Duffie and was also preceded in death by a brother, James Franklin Duffie and a great granddaughter, Veralee Marie Craft. She was retired from Prime Media Productions, Inc.
and was of Baptist faith.
Linda is survived by three children, Melinda Bates of Lynchburg, Steven Hicks and wife Dee Dee of Concord, and Lisa Collins and husband William of Red House; one brother, Branch Duffie and wife Marilyn of Bixby, OK; eight grandchildren, David, Jared, Jessica, Harley, Amanda, Jonathan, Jennifer, and Joseph; three great grandchildren, Zoe, Zakary, and Caylee Mae; her former husband, Robert Hicks and her puppy, Roscoe.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation, in Whitten’s chapel.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Boston at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Linda’s name, may be made to the Campbell County Rescue Squad or the Lynchburg Humane Society.
