You were so kind to me. I sure miss your Christmas cards. R.I.P.  🩷 Susan Watts-Korn






I will never get my words quite right for what I lost, when we lost you. I’d choose coming to see you over a friend’s house, any day. No matter how wild and mischievous I was, you’d ask when I was coming back. Unconditional love, you taught me that. You taught me everything you could, you helped raise me. How to use a sewing machine, how to bake, and how to play the piano, even though I still only remember those two kid songs. I still play them both every time I pass by a piano. You took me with you to church anytime you could, always adding to my knowledge. I’m so thankful to know Him better because of you. 

I’d wake up on the weekends to the smell of pancakes. The hard wood floors creaky and cool under my feet. The kitchen would be warm and glowing from the sun coming through your bright yellow curtains. We’d watch Saturday morning cartoons while we ate, talking about what we wanted to do that day. We’d play games; Rock School, TROUBLE, “Teacher”, and Checkers, until we both had to nap. You’d wrap me up in my blanket on your couch, the BEST place for resting, with you at the other end. We would wake up in a daze, get up and do it all over, again, sometimes adding a spray bottle water battle, while the church bells played in the distance, letting us know it was time to start dinner, hopefully your mac and cheese. 

The games changed as we got older but every once in a while, TROUBLE would came out for old times’ sake. One summer, we played over 200 games of Skip-Bo, that deck of cards had to be retired, they weren’t even slick enough to shuffle anymore. You will always be my favorite person to play with, you will always be in some of my fondest, most cherished memories. You’ll never leave my heart. 

I love you and I miss you so incredibly much. Thank you for everything- being such an influential, caring, and loving part of my life. I can’t wait to laugh with you again, I’ll save my “sugar” just for you.

I am so sorry to hear of Lillian's passing.  She was a kind soul.  I went to church with her for years at Campbell Avenue Baptist when she played the piano.  She always talked about Marquis.  She loved her so.  May you lean on the Lord to comfort you in your time of sorrow.  Prayers for you all.

I shall miss my beloved cousin, Lillian, who always made time to visit with me when I came to Virginia to visit family.  We exchanged stories and laughed together at life's unexpected turns.  I have many pleasant memories of time spent with Lillian and her parents, Fannie, and Sam.  When I was a child and a young adult, Lillian and I  played piano for each other and shared our love of music.  We spent many hours talking, and she was always kind to me.  I loved her sense of humor, and we often found ways to play jokes on her brother, Jimmy, when he was a youth.  When I moved away from Virginia, Lillian took the time to write to me.  I treasured her cards and letters.   Until we meet again, sweet cousin, you shall live in my heart and in my memories.

Lillian was so kind-hearted. I will always remember her playing the piano, and her smile and laughter.

May you be at peace now sweet angel. I know you are happy to see jimmy. Until we meet again. Love you! Susan 

Graveside Service

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Bolden Davidson and Fannie Freeman Davidson and her brother, Jimmy Davidson.


She is survived by her niece, Juanda D. Harper and husband Richard; great niece, Marquis Harper, all of Forest; her sister-in-law, Cathy Davidson of Lynchburg; devoted friends, Teresa Davis and husband David and their children, Makayla and Kendall. She is also survived by her special kitty and companion, Molly.
