Judith Frances Parker, 79, of Gladys, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, February 2, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Judy, born in Campbell County on October 13, 1944, was the daughter of the late Elwood William Cocks and Arlene Clark Cocks. She was a devoted wife, having shared 49 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Robert Parker. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and shared experiences.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Cocks, and her niece, Rita Walker. Their memories will undoubtedly be intertwined with the beautiful recollections of Judy's life.
Judy's professional journey saw her working for General Electric for a number of years, and later, she retired from Intercon, Inc. Following her professional career, she found joy in caring for children in her home, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of those she nurtured. Known for her culinary talents, Judy's cooking brought people together, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that will be missed by all who had the pleasure of savoring her creations.
Judy found solace in gardening and spent countless hours outdoors surrounded by the beauty of her plants and the companionship of her beloved dogs and cats. Her connection with the natural world reflected her nurturing spirit and genuine love for all living things.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Robert Parker, who stood by her side for nearly five decades. She is also survived by her step-son, Maurice Parker (Pam), and step-daughter, Lawana Dillard. Her step-grandson, Robert Parker, brought immense joy and pride to her life. Additionally, Judy is survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Cocks; one nephew, Jeff Cocks and devoted friends, Dana Lewis and Paul Johnson.
A memorial service to celebrate Judy's life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
