He was born in Lynchburg on July 24, 1950, son of the late Winslow C. Edwards and the late Catherine M. Edwards. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles William Edwards.
Johnny was retired from Archer Creek Foundry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and listening to Bluegrass music as well as sitting by his pond, while one of his greatest joys was going to yard sales it did not compare with the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Lee Edwards, Jr.; two sisters, Katie Mayberry and husband William and Elizabeth Edwards; two grandchildren, Alexis MaKayla Edwards and Layla Chevelle Edwards as well as two nephews, Charles Edwards, Jr. and Travis Mayberry.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow at Cumbie Memorial Cemetery.
