SMSGT John Wayne Irvan

Born on February 18, 1947 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Lloyd Guy Irvan and Edith Reynolds Irvan. John was a retired Vietnam Veteran in the United States Air Force with 20 years of service.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a sister, Karen Sue Kennon.

John is survived by his siblings; twin brother, Ernest Layne Irvan, Lloyd Winston Irvan, Donald Ray Irvan, Doris Irvan Thompson, Brenda Irvan Reynolds, and Aylette Irvan Pollard.

His twin brother, Ernest and sister, Aylette were his caretakers during his long illness and surgery.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Dr. Bob Phillips, II officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 1 pm.

The family has requested that no visitors or guests come to their home.
