Jerry Carlan Martin

Born September 2, 1943 in Prince Edward County, he was the son of the late Henry Frank Martin, Sr. and Inis Pauline Horton Martin and was also preceded in death by one brother, Ronald W. Martin. Mr. Martin was an employee of Babock & Wilcox and was a member of Sandusky Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Martin is survived by one son, Edward A. Martin and wife, Sue of Franklin, VA; one daughter, Melodie M. Mullen and husband, Jason of Lynchburg; one sister, Patricia M. Baber and husband, Michael of Forest; one brother, Henry F. Martin, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Davey White, Amanda Munford, Emily Mullen, and Isabella Mullen; three great-grandchildren, Claire White, Winston White, and Tripp Munford and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Ed Vogt officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.
