James Edward Pollard Jr.

James Edward Pollard, Jr., 62, of Hardy, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at his residence. Born in Lynchburg, he was the son of Shirley Hunter Pollard and the late James Edward Pollard, Sr. James enjoyed the outdoors and he never met a stranger always eager to engage in a conversation with anyone. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Ciarra Pollard of Baltimore, MD; his life partner of 26 years, Deborah Weaver; his sister, Faith Rector and her husband Robert of Danville; his brother, Michael Pollard and his wife Lisa of Huddleston; four nieces, Tara Rector, Lauren Doino and husband David, Jessica Holbrook and husband Matthew and Hannah Pollard and husband Adam; one nephew, Caleb Pollard and 7 grand nieces and nephews. At his request, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
