Jacqueline McGeorge "Jackie" Hadden

Born in Roanoke, she was the daughter of the late William Wesley McGeorge and the late Erma Craghead McGeorge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Powell and Nancy McGeorge, as well as two brothers, William McGeorge and Paul McGeorge.

Jackie was a founding member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lynchburg and was a retired administrative assistant at Arthur's Flower Cart after 18 years of service. She graduated from National Business College with a degree in Secretarial Science in 1946. She was a member and former president of Brookville-Timberlake Lions Club, a member of the Brookville Community Club, a 4-H Club Leader and a volunteer Field Service Representative for Leader Dog School for the Blind. She was really good to and good for Bill Hadden when he lost his eye sight at the pinnacle of his career.

In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by three children, David T. Hadden and his wife, Teri, of Goode, Deborah H. Reeves and her husband, Hank, of Jackson, TN and Derek L. Hadden and his wife, Nancy, of Newport, VA; five grandchildren, Joel Reeves and his wife, Adri, Kristen R. Kessler and her husband, Nick, Aimee Hadden, Daniel Hadden and Isaac Lee Hadden; three great grandchildren, Evelyn "Evie" Kessler, Judah Kessler and Katherine "Katie" Reeves; one sister, Emogene Hess of Roanoke and two brothers, Robert McGeorge of Roanoke and Richard McGeorge and his wife, Alice, of Garden Grove, CA.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016, at Calvary Baptist Church, 20957 Timberlake Rd., Lynchburg, VA. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

The family is very appreciative of the care Jackie has received from all of the staff at The Summit and Virginia Baptist Hospital - English One.
