Born in Spout Spring, June 22, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Sanders McCormick and Queen Almond McCormick.
Mrs. Williams was retired from Lynchburg City Schools where she served as the secretary at Sandusky Elementary and she was a lifelong member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter Linda W. Groome and one grandson, Alan McCoy.
She is survived by one son, Ernest M. Williams, III and his wife Cathy of Lynchburg; two daughters, Bonnie W. McCoy and her husband Byron of Appomattox and Julie W. Black and her husband Daniel of Greer, SC; one brother, Curtis W. McCormick and his wife Evelyn of Lynchburg; one sister, Mackie M. Clapp of Monroe; nine grandchildren, Trish Kessler and husband Keith, Abby Bradley and husband Mike, Molly Groome, Will Black, Josh Black, Jesse Black, Duean Black, Maggie Black and Sarah Williams.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Dr. Robert Putt officiating.
