We’ll say “good night” here, but “good morning” up there.
Hazel was born in Altavista, one of seven children to Ben Hall and Lula Craig Hall. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Alvin Burton Ring.
Hazel was blessed with three wonderful children. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Ring Anderson; her son Larry Ring and wife Susan; her daughter in law, Cindy Ring; one brother Kenneth T. Hall, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Hazel was heartbroken at the loss of her son Bruce who passed away from an illness in 2011 and was also preceded in death by five siblings.
Hazel lived a full happy life. She was a longtime member of Southview United Methodist Church and was proud to be a “Cotton Hill Girl.” She had a successful career as an insurance sales person at Pilot and Interstate life where she won numerous awards and vacation trips. Hazel was the matriarch of the family and always had a listening ear and an open door for everyone who needed her.
The celebration of Hazel’s life will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the funeral home and at other times at Hazel’s home.
