Gloria Gamez Tharp

Born on April 2, 1930 in San Francisco, CA she was the daughter of the late Edward Gamez and Rachel Gomez Jenkins.

Gloria was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Steven Tharp, Sr.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen Phipps, Diane Johnson both of San Diego, CA, Robert Tharp, Jr. and wife Patsy of Plano, TX, and Michael Tharp and wife Cassandra of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Bain, William Tharp, Eric Tharp, Steven Tharp, Jr., Nicol Eichenberger, Ryan Johnson, and Joshua Johnson; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and one on the way; and her sister, Alicia Edwina Hall and husband Dan of San Francisco, CA.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. Victoria Catholic Church, 305 Victoria Dr., Hurt, VA, with Father Jim Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
