Born in Halifax County, May 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. Rogers and Manie Waller Rogers. She was retired from Sun Trust Bank and was a long time member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. As a young woman, she loved riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John T. Rogers and two sisters, Evelyn R. DeJarnette and Helen E. Rogers.
She is survived by one son, David T. Sexton and one daughter, Donna S. Glass both of Lynchburg; one grandson, Ethan J. Glass of Richmond and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ian McManamey and the Rev. Randy Bower officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Private interment will be at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge Dr. Cecilia MacCallum and the nurses and staff of Centra Hospice for the wonderful care they provided and also a special thanks to her best friend, Betty Keys Bernard, for her love and care for many years.
