Emmett Lewis Sprouse, 81, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his residence.

Born June 7, 1941 in Batesville, VA, he was the son of the late Ellis Benjamin and Myrtle Stinnette Sprouse. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Ellis B. Sprouse, Jr., Early W. Sprouse, Phillip L. Sprouse, William L. Sprouse, Shirley M. Sprouse. Mr. Sprouse graduated from Lynchburg College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He was a retired technician with BWXT Technologies and served with the Virginia Army National Guard.

Mr. Sprouse is survived by one nephew, Steve Sprouse ; three nieces, Vicky Branham, Amanda Tyree, and Renata Sprouse and a host of great and great-great-nephews and nieces. Mr. Sprouse is predecease by one nephew Mark Sprouse.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Mike Stidham officiating.
