Elvira Viola Hammack Hammack Stanley

Born October 17, 1932 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Herman Berry Hammack, Sr. and the late Nannie Swain Hammack and was also preceded in death by two brothers, H.B. Hammack, Jr. and Raleigh F. Hammack. She was a retired caregiver and was a member of the Salvation Army.

Viola is survived by four sons, James Stanley and wife Mariea, Jerry Stanley, Glen Stanley, and Carl Stanley, all of Lynchburg; one daughter, Patricia “Patsy” Scruggs and husband Mike of Altavista; a sister, Eva Stanley of Monroe; a grandson, Jeremy Stanley, who lived with Viola; seven other special grandchildren and eight special great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Captain Donald Dohmann officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
