Elizabeth Tweedy Collins

Born April 15, 1931 in Appomattox County, she was daughter of the late John Tweedy, Sr. and the late Ruth Cawthorn Tweedy and was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. She was a retired LPN with St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY and was a member of Fairview Christian Church.

Mrs. Collins is survived by five children, Steven R. Collins and wife Maureen of Norwalk, CT, Dinah Sue Wade and husband Steve of Lynchburg, David Rosser Collins of Liverpool, NY, Jean M. Crawford and husband Kevin of New market, VA, and Lisa Blachford and husband Rodney of Camillus, NY; one brother, John Tweedy of Appomattox; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Ron Litten officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Odd Fellows Home, 600 Elmwood Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24503.
