Effie Knipps Hubbard

Effie Knipps Hubbard, 91, of Lynchburg, died Monday, December 24, 2012, at the Runk and Pratt Nursing Home in Forest. She was the wife of the late Edward Buscom Hubbard. She was born November 25, 1921, in Bealton, VA.

Effie was a retired clerk for Westminster Nursing Home and she was a member of Lynchburg Baptist Church.

Effie is survived by her son, Sammy Saunders, Sr. and his wife Stephanie of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Sammy Saunders, Jr. and his wife Tabatha of Greenbelt, MD, Kimberly Saunders of Baltimore, MD, Tracy Saunders Haven and her husband Mark of Indianapolis, IN and Christina Saunders Craigs and her husband Jimmy, also of Indianapolis, IN; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m.., Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Jay Logan officiating.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2012, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lynchburg Baptist Church.
