Dennis Calvin Rafferty, 70, of Lynchburg, passed away on May 19, 2023, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wendy, and two daughters, Crystal Mohler of St. Pete Beach, FL and Ashley Rafferty of Moneta, VA; and two grandchildren, Colby and Hope, of St Pete Beach, FL. He also leaves behind two very-loved furry companions, Bear and Banks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Doris Rafferty, and his two sisters, Debra Driskill and Rhonda Harm.
Dennis held an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering and retired from the Lynchburg VDOT Bridge section. He also worked for Schwartz & Associates Consulting for 20 years.
He attended New Chapel Baptist Church. A member of Moose Lodge 1727 for 42 years, he especially enjoyed going to ‘steak night’ with the guys. Other favorite hobbies included fishing, riding his Harley, and an occasional poker night with friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Wed, May 24 at 11am at New Chapel Baptist Church in Rustburg with visitation one hour before the service and burial to follow.
