David was born in Lynchburg, February 14, 1950, to the late Richard Barkley Glass and Margaret Murphy Glass.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Reynolds Glass; three children, David L. Glass, Jr. (Joni), Jon Christian Glass (Matthea) and Sarah Rebecca Diaz; former daughter-in-law, Shannon Couch; 13 grandchildren, Brittany Glass, Amy Darran (Corey), Hunter Glass, Emily Glass, Camryn Glass, Madicyn Glass, Katherine Glass, Carter Glass, Caleb Glass, Christian Glass, Karis Lynn Glass, Alberto “Papi” Pagon, and Kya Massie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, many great nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his infant grandson Kai Glass; his brother C. Michael "Mike" Glass and son-in-law, Steven Diaz.
David retired after 36 years from The Supreme Court of Virginia as a Magistrate of the 24" Judicial District. David began working in his teens as a deejay for local radio stations and enjoyed it for many years and made great friends along the way.
David resided in Lynchburg his entire life and was a Christ follower. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church where he played tambourine in the Old Time Gospel Hour Choir.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Suitt and Rev. Jon Glass officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
