Clayton Homer Moore, 77, of Evington passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra Moore.
Born September 15, 1942 in New Jersey he was a son of the late Clayton H. Moore, Jr. and Constance Moore.
He was a retired professor at the University of Nebraska, served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Wesleybury Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Kelsey Cooper and her husband, Scott of Omaha, NE and Larissa Carlson and her husband, Donnie of Council Bluff, IA; two step-sons, Patrick Balkus and his wife, Cristy of Halifax, and Francis Balkus and his wife, Lauren of Henrico; one step-daughter, Dorothy Crews and her husband, Clarke of North Carolina; two sisters, Connie Shakleford and her husband, Wynn of Rustburg and Chris Walls and her husband, Jeff of Snowflake, AZ; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Wesleybury Church with Pastor William Smith officiating.
